COMPARATIVE ANATOMY OF SOME PINUS L. SPECIES

C.TOMA, IRINA TOMA, LĂCRĂMIOARA IVĂNESCU

Abstract: The purpose of this study was to investigate the leaf structure of 8 species of Pinus from Romanian Flora: 4 spontaneous and 4 cultivated. The structure’s variation was depended on the needle’s age (one or two years) and the level of sections was underlined. The analysis of the structure was focused on: the shape of the leaf transection, the structure of the epidermis, hypodermis, mesophyll and the endodermis, the number, location and structure of the resin ducts, the structure and disposition of the vascular bundles. The taxonomical importance of these features was underlined.
